Keep the Eternal Flame Alive

The "Eternal Flame" sitting atop the Liberty Memorial tower at the National World War I Museum in Kansas City, Mo., may be turned off due to funding constraints. Pioneer Services, a division of MidCountry Bank, donated $5,000 to the museum to keep the flame burning through the July 4th weekend. They also agreed to match any donations that are made up to a total of $22,500. Museum officials report it costs $45,000 annually to maintain the flame. For more information, visit the National World War I Museum website and click on the "Save the Flame" banner.
