Many WWII veterans were able to visit the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. recently on the 65th Anniversary of D-Day thanks to the work of Honor Flight. The mission of the Honor Flight network is to transport America's veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices. Top priority is given to the senior veterans -- World War II survivors -- along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill. The trips are made at no cost to the veterans. For more information, visit the Honor Flight website.
