AAFES announced last week that contributions to its "Gifts from the Homefront" troop support effort soared this holiday season, jumping more than 300 percent in November alone. Anyone can send a "Gift from the Homefront" by logging on aafes.org or calling 877-770-4438. From there, the gift certificates may be sent to an individual servicemember (designated by the purchaser) or distributed to "any servicemember" through various charitable organizations.
