Free Rooms for Some Va. Based Troops

Junior enlisted servicemembers stationed on Va. Peninsula bases could get a free hotel room for their families visiting over the Christmas holiday. The Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce's Military Affairs Committee hosts an annual Holiday Rooms program with hotels in Hampton, Newport News, York and Williamsburg. Rooms are assigned on a first come, first serve basis to military members ranked E-6 and below. Servicemembers must be stationed at the Marine Reserve center in Newport News, Fort Eustis, Fort Monroe, Langley Air Force Base, Newport News shipyard, Naval Weapons Station Yorktown or Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown to be eligible.
