Fisher Houses Serving Families
Week of October 27, 2008
A Fisher House provides "a home away from home" that enables family members to be close to a servicemember at the most stressful time -- during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury. By law, there is no charge for any family to stay at a Fisher House operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Twenty-nine Fisher Houses now operate at 17 military bases and at five VA medical centers throughout the nation. For more information, visit the Fisher Houses website.
