Defense Bill: Pay and TRICARE Fees Go Up
Week of December 19, 2011
After weeks of wrangling over a provision dealing with detaining terrorism suspects, Congress finally sent the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 to President Barack Obama for signature. This should mean troops will get their January 1, 2012 across the board military pay increase on time. In addition, the defense bill will peg any future increase in TRICARE Prime enrollment fees for military retirees to future retiree Cost-of-living-Adjustments (COLA).
