Constitution Day and Citizenship Day
Week of September 15, 2008
The Department of Defense (DoD) will observe Constitution Day and Citizenship Day Sept. 17, 2008 to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia on that day in 1787. To assist in celebrating this event, training and educational materials are being provided to all DoD employees at the Constitution Day and Citizenship Day website to encourage them to hold ceremonies and special programs. The website also includes a special video presentation featuring Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, retired associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.
