"Assistance Act" Slowing Vets Claims
Week of July 21, 2008
In 2000, Congress passed the Veterans Claims Assistance Act (VCAA). Since then, a lengthy process is required to develop evidence to support claims. A recent study of VA claims processing, conducted by IBM, confirmed that compliance with the VCAA created bottlenecks for processors.
