Some deployed Airmen who have served uncharacteristically long tours of duty will become qualified for a special advance assignment/deferment (AAD) program. Airmen, enlisted and officers, who have served a tour of duty of at least 300 consecutive days in a 365-day period in a hazardous location will be eligible for the program. Airmen also must have spent a minimum of 36 months time at their current permanent change of stations site. The AAD program is designed to allow all qualified Airmen to request an advance assignment or an in-place 24- month assignment deferment.
