Here are seven cyber-security tips to help you stay safe online:
(1) Use Anti-virus programs. Servicemembers and government employees can download free antivirus programs.
(2) Keep firewalls turned on.
(3) Install a spyware/malware removal tool.
(4) Don?t use an administrative account.
(5) Choose a strong password. According to National Cyber Security Alliance one way to choose a strong password is to choose an easy-to-remember phrase and convert initial letters into a password,
(6) Keep the operating system up-to-date by setting your computer for daily automatic updates.
(7) Be careful what you download and what attachments you open.
