Arkansas recently became the fifteenth state to provide eligibility for unemployment compensation for a military spouse who must terminate employment due to a military-required location of his or her family. The new law will take effect on Oct.1, 2007. The states of South Carolina, New Jersey, and Connecticut are currently considering similar legislation.
