Are You at Risk for Colorectal Cancer?
Week of March 30, 2009
If you have never been screened for colorectal cancer, ask yourself these questions: Are you over 50 years old? Is there a history in your family of colorectal cancer or colon polyps? Do you have blood in your stool, any unexplained weight loss, or weakness or fatigue? If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, it's time to make an appointment with your physician to talk about getting screened. For more information on colorectal (colon) cancer, including educational materials, visit the Centers for Disease Control website, the Screen for Life campaign website, and the National Cancer Institute's website.
