Air Force officials modified two permanent change of station (PCS) policies to give Airmen more flexible assignment options and better force development opportunities. The time on station requirement for government funded join-spouse assignments changed from 24 to 12 months. The other change involves recent adjustments in manning requirements for Airmen at stateside bases, which is expected to open up more base-of-preference opportunities. For more information, Airmen can call the Total Force Service Center at (800) 525-0102, commercial (210) 565-5000 or DSN 665-5000.
It doesn't matter if it's your first PCS or your 101st, the moving process is fraught with stress and disorganization. The Military.com PCS/Home Buying Guide can help you sort through the moving process and ease your PCS.
