The Air Force's Voluntary Limited Period of Active Duty (VLPAD) program has added a number of career fields for selected air reserve component line of the Air Force officers. For 1,096 days, Reserve and Air National Guard officers from certain Air Force specialties can fill vacant active-duty positions for Air Force ROTC; Air Force ROTC detachment commanders; Officer Training School and Air Command and Staff College instructors; mission support group deputy commanders; Air University faculty; cyber (17D) and combat rescue officers.
