A standardized Air Force informal uniform is now authorized and will be mandatory for wear starting Jan. 1, 2011. The uniform includes a dark blue, short- or long-sleeved shirt with a "U.S. Air Force" logo on the front, upper-left chest and a white functional identification monogram on the left sleeve above the elbow. Brushed silver name tags with rank and last name will be worn. Occupational badges are optional for wear. Personal grooming and accessory standards must be within regulations while wearing the informal uniform.
