The Air Force Materiel Command reminds servicemembers to be aware of the potential dangers at unfamiliar locations and offers the following tips:
(1) Travel in a group when going out "on the town."
(2) Research your TDY location for high crime areas.
(3) Stay sober.
(4) Trust your instincts.
(5) Avoid late night escapades.
(6) Be prepared and have your keys in hand before reaching your vehicle or hotel entrance.
(7) Don?t wear clothing or shoes that restrict your movement.
(8) Be ready to dial your cell telephone.
(9) Don?t talk to strangers or ask for help.
(10) Remain calm and stay confident--walk briskly and stay aware of your surroundings.
(11) Don?t wear brand-named items.
(12) Avoid flashing the cash ? place wallets and checkbooks in an inside coat or front pocket.
