The Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC) is accepting nominations for the 2009 Government Employees Insurance Company's (GEICO's) Military Service Awards. Nominees must have at least one year of obligated service through Dec. 31, 2010, to be eligible. Awards will be given in three categories: drug and alcohol abuse prevention, fire safety and fire prevention, and traffic safety and accident prevention. Contact your major command, field operating agency, direct reporting unit or MAJCOM equivalent for additional information regarding nomination procedures. Nomination packages are due to AFPC by Oct. 15, 2009. For more information, call the Total Force Service Center at (800) 525-0102.
