NSA Mid-South to Host First Ever Race of its Kind

When: June 6, 2010, 7 a.m.

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - The inaugural run of the Navy Ten Nautical Miler road race will take place June 6, 2010, at the Naval Support Activity Mid-South in Millington, Tenn.

This is the first and only race of its kind; no other foot race has been based on nautical miles before, so those who place first will set the world record for their respective age categories. Lt. The Navy Ten Nautical Miler is an event officially sanctioned by USA Track & Field, the national governing body for track & field, long distance running, and race walking in the United States. The event is being coordinated in association with the Memphis Runners Track Club. Prior to race day, the only registration is being done online by Races Online. Early registration (prior to May 2) is $40; beginning May 3, the registration fee is $50. Runners should register prior to May 15 to ensure a t-shirt is available for them on race day.
