The Rush-Hour Workout

Beat the crowd and get in this full-body dumbbell routine when the gym's packed.

Q: Hey, Muscle Guy! How can I work out when the gym is packed?
     - Jasper, Tallulah, LA

A: Grab a pair of dumbbells and find a space with a few feet to operate. You'll perform 5 or 6 strength moves in succession, working a variety of muscle groups. This extended set is known as a "complex."

How it works: Choose a weight that allows you to execute the hardest exercise in your complex. In the example below, your limiting exercise would be the curl and press. You'll use the same pair of dumbbells throughout for a challenging, nonstop routine. Complete 6 to 10 reps of each exercise.
