ARMED FORCES DAY DISCOUNTS

Sam's Club

To honor Armed Forces Day (May 17, 2014) Sam’s Club will offer free, temporary one-day shopping passes to military personnel, veterans, retirees and their families.

Tommy Bahama

Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar is offering priority seating and a complimentary entree with the purchase of at least one additional entree on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 17, 2014.

MILITARY APPRECIATION MONTH DISCOUNTS

AMF Bowling

AMF bowling centers is again offering their free summer bowling promotion.  If you register your kids (ages 15 and under) with AMF’s bowling website, they will be able to bowl 3 free games every weekday this summer.  All you pay for is shoe rental, and snacks if your kids can persuade you to buy them.  This offer is good from Memorial Day (May 26, 2014) to Labor Day (September 1, 2014). 

Blue Star Museums

Blue Star Museums is a partnership among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, Joining Forces, MetLife Foundation and museums across the country. From Memorial Day (May 26, 2014) through Labor Day (September 1, 2014), thousands of museums, art centers, and exhibits are offering free admission to all active duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel and their families. 

Boston Market

Boston Market honors the military with a special offer in celebration of National Military Appreciation Month. Get 10% off your in-restaurant order when you show your military or veteran ID.

Carnival Cruise

Carnival Cruise Lines is offering discounts and onboard credits in honor of Military Appreciation Month for active duty and retired military personnel. You must book between May 1, 2014 and May 31, 2014, and the offer is good on sailings between May 2014 and December 2014.

Chick-fil-A

On May 21, Chick-fil-A is offering a free meal to active duty military, veterans and their families for Military Appreciation Night in Southern California.

General Motors

All active, reserve, retired and veteran military can receive the General Motors military discount on Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles until June 30, 2014. Click here for more details.

Hampton Inn

Hampton offers 15% off to active and retired military and their families for leisure stays at participating hotels year round. 

Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach is hosting Military Appreciation Days during May 2014. The celebration includes active duty military personnel, reserves, the National Guard and veterans from all service branches. Military personnel and their families can look for discounts to area restaurants and attractions, as well as fun events like the Memorial Day weekend parade, live music and a 5k run. National Parks: Free Annual Pass

Service members (including activated members of the National Guard and Reserves) and their dependents can obtain the National Park's annual Pass ("America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands Annual Pass") for free beginning . The pass waives parking and entrance fees (some limitations apply) for parks that charge.

Premium Outlets

Premium Outlets salutes the military during the month of May, National Military Appreciation Month. Additional savings are being offered to all military personnel who present their Military ID at the Information Center. Locations include Chicago, IL; Kittery, ME; Orlando, FL; Gulfport, MS; Calhoun, GA; Osage Beach, MO; Jackson, NJ; and Williamsburg, VA.

Shades of Green, Walt Disney World

Shades of Green, the military resort on Walt Disney World property is running a room rate discount, with room rates based upon rank category. The Military Appreciation Special is available on standard rooms only, May 11-22, 2014.

Military Appreciation Month The Senate first passed a resolution in 1999 designating National Military Appreciation Month, which encourages U.S. citizens every May to observe the month in a symbol of unity, and honor the current and former members of the armed forces, including those who have died in the pursuit of freedom and peace.
