Reconnect America - Give Back To Those Who Give It All
The Military Channel and Military.com have joined forces to create "Reconnect America," a nationwide program that makes it easy for you to show your support for the men and women of our Armed Forces. Together, we can join forces to say "thanks" in ways that matter most. The non-profit organizations below are doing great work for our troops. Click on any of the links to learn more and lend a hand.
ThanksUSA's mission is to mobilize Americans of all ages to "thank" the men and women of the United States armed forces by providing need-based college, technical and vocational school scholarships for their children and spouses. Since its founding in 2006, ThanksUSA has awarded almost 2,000 scholarships to the children and spouses of active-duty military personnel in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, including the families of those killed and wounded. The need for these scholarships remains strong. In 2009, ThanksUSA provided 200 scholarships -- yet received more than 3,000 scholarship applications. DONATE NOW
The American Legion
Since its founding in 1919, The American Legion has been a strong advocate for veterans and the benefits they have earned through their honorable service to America. In each state, the Legion?s service officers help veterans apply for VA and GI Bill benefits, and help them readjust to civilian life through the Heroes to Hometowns outreach program. Other American Legion programs include Operation Comfort Warriors, which supplies wounded troops with comfort items to help ease their recovery in military and VA medical centers.
