ThanksUSA

ThanksUSA's mission is to mobilize Americans of all ages to "thank" the men and women of the United States armed forces by providing need-based college, technical and vocational school scholarships for their children and spouses. Since its founding in 2006, ThanksUSA has awarded almost 2,000 scholarships to the children and spouses of active-duty military personnel in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, including the families of those killed and wounded. The need for these scholarships remains strong. In 2009, ThanksUSA provided 200 scholarships -- yet received more than 3,000 scholarship applications. DONATE NOW

The American Legion

The American Legion

Since its founding in 1919, The American Legion has been a strong advocate for veterans and the benefits they have earned through their honorable service to America. Through a variety of programs, more than 14,000 American Legion posts across the country offer support to veterans, servicemembers and their families. In each state, the Legion?s service officers help veterans apply for VA and GI Bill benefits, and help them readjust to civilian life through the Heroes to Hometowns outreach program. Other American Legion programs include Operation Comfort Warriors, which supplies wounded troops with comfort items to help ease their recovery in military and VA medical centers. The American Legion Legacy Scholarship program provides funding for higher education to the children of servicemembers who have died on active duty since Sept. 11, 2001. DONATE NOW
