U.S. Coast Guard | LT Jeremy Denning | March 13, 2008
SAN DIEGO - A small search and rescue boat from Coast Guard Station San Diego medevaced a passenger from the C/S Monarch of the Seas 10 miles west of Point Loma, Calif.

A call came in to the Coast Guard command center from the cruise ship at 11:30 p.m. last night.  A flight surgeon determined the man required a medical evacuation, and the small boat was dispatched to the location.

The small boat rendezvoused with the cruise ship and the man was transferred to the small boat.  The patient was taken to the San Diego Harbor Police dock on Shelter Island where he was met by EMS personnel.

The patient was taken to UCSD Medical Center.
