USAA Joins Forces With NHL and NBA Teams to Honor DC-Area Military Members

New Sponsorship donates tickets for all Wizards and Capitals home games

SAN ANTONIO – To recognize military members for their sacrifice and dedication, USAA, the financial services provider for military members and their families, has teamed with the Washington Wizards and the Washington Capitals to create new seating sections honoring military personnel during the teams’ 2006-2007 seasons.

USAA will provide 40 free tickets for each home game to military members and their families in recognition of their service. The sections have been named “Butler’s Brigade” for Wizards’ star Caron Butler, and “Clark’s Command” for Capitals’ captain Chris Clark.

“Sponsoring these military sections is a small way we can thank military men and women for their service,” said Sean O’Reilly, USAA’s assistant vice president of marketing.

USAA will host a “Military Appreciation Night” with the Capitals on Dec. 8 and the Wizards on Jan. 20 to further honor military personnel and their families. The nights will include a Purple Heart Recognition ceremony at halftime, free American flags for all in attendance, and 200 additional tickets to each game for military personnel and their families.
