Actor and producer Zach Braff says his U.S. hospital sitcom "Scrubs," which recently finished its ninth season, will not return for a 10th.
"Many of you have asked, so here it is," Braff wrote on Facebook. "It appears that 'New Scrubs', 'Scrubs 2.0', 'Scrubs with new kids', 'Scrubbier', 'Scrubs without JD' is no more. It was worth a try, but alas... it didn't work."
The show's creator Bill Lawrence told E! News "Scrubs" "hasn't been canceled, (but) we're all just assuming it's over."
ABC has declined to comment on whether it will renew the comedy for another season, E! News said.
The series ran for seven seasons on NBC and two on ABC. The final season saw major casting changes with Braff and other "Scrubs" veterans appearing in only some of the episodes and the storylines focusing on the newcomers.
