U.S. Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is to make his first visit to the "Late Show with David Letterman" Monday, CBS said.
"Since October 2007, Admiral Mullen has served as the United States' 17th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and is the highest-ranking member of the U.S. Armed Forces," CBS noted in a news release Thursday.
"First nominated and confirmed to the post under President George W. Bush, he was re-nominated to a second term by President Barack Obama in 2009 and re-confirmed in October of that year. Admiral Mullen will retire at the end of his term on Sept. 30, 2011."
