Police: Man Had Marijuana Christmas Tree

Police in Germany said they discovered a 7-foot marijuana plant decorated for Christmas during a drug bust in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
Investigators said the resident, a man who was involved in the widespread political protests in the country in 1968, "more or less willingly" handed over 5.5 ounces of marijuana, but officers noticed a "peculiar 'Christmas tree'" while searching the rest of his Montabaur home, The Local reported Thursday.
"In response to questions by the dumbfounded officers, the hashish fan confirmed that the 'tree' would be decorated further and, on Christmas, gifts would be arranged underneath according to tradition," the police statement said.
Police did not specify the charges against the man.
