Authorities in Florida allege a man who claimed to have "bubble gum" in his sock during a traffic stop turned out to be carrying three small baggies of cocaine. The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office report said the 38-year-old suspect was pulled over Wednesday in Fort Pierce, Fla., after a deputy noticed a front-seat passenger not wearing a seat belt, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Friday. The driver appeared "very nervous" and seemed to be putting something under his seat before the car was approached, deputies wrote. The report said a deputy patted the driver down and discovered a "bulge" in his sock that the suspect claimed was "bubble gum." However, a search of the sock turned up the three baggies allegedly containing cocaine and Anderson was arrested on a felony charge of cocaine possession.
