Steven Soderbergh Retiring From Film

Hollywood film director Steven Soderbergh says his next two movies will be his last.
The prolific auteur counts among his credits "Sex, Lies & Videotape," "Out of Sight," "Traffic," "Erin Brockovich," "The Good German," "Che," "The Informant!" "Ocean's Eleven" and its two sequels.
"When you reach the point where you're like, 'If I have to get into a van to do another scout, I'm just going to shoot myself,' it's time to let somebody else who's still excited about getting in the van, get in the van," The Hollywood Reporter said Soderbergh told Studio 360's Kurt Anderson. "And so it's just time. For the last three years, I've been turning down everything that comes my way, so you're not going to have Steven Soderbergh to kick around anymore. ... When you see those athletes hang on one or two seasons too long, it's kind of sad."
Soderbergh, 48, said his last two movies will be "Liberace" with Matt Damon and Michael Douglas, and "Man From U.N.C.L.E.," starring George Clooney.
"That's a great way to sort of step off," Soderbergh said.
He has worked with Damon and Clooney numerous times, and he and Douglas previously collaborated on "Traffic."
