Radcliffe Plays Kipling's Son In Film

British actor Daniel Radcliffe plays the tragic son of author Rudyard Kipling in an upcoming World War I TV movie, The Times of London reported.
Best-known as the boy wizard in the big-screen Harry Potter blockbusters, Radcliffe will be seen Sunday in My Boy Jack, the ITV movie about Lt. John Jack Kipling who went missing in action on a battlefield in France after his father helped secure him a commission.
Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall plays Kipling's U.S. wife, Carrie, in the movie, which will air as part of the channel's Armistice Day tributes, The Times said.
My Boy Jack marks Radcliffe's first television role.
I hope people are moved, he said. The thought of forgetting all those people who fought is terrible. We are lucky not to have to endure those conditions now.
The 18-year-old actor said his great-uncle had fought in the Great War.
It is hard not to feel the parallels with what is happening now in Iraq and Afghanistan. Parents outliving their children is the greatest tragedy imaginable, he noted.
My Boy Jack will be screened on Sunday, November 11, at 9pm on ITV1.
