"Powder Blue" Coming to DVD

Ray Liotta and Hugh Laurie - two actors who are always interesting to watch - have DVD releases due Tuesday.
Liotta stars in "Power Blue," a drama in which the lives of four disparate, desperate people collide. Yes, it sounds like "Crash" - and it's kind of crazy - but in addition to Liotta, it's got Forest Whitaker (and Kris Kristofferson, Lisa Kudrow and Patrick Swayze in supporting roles). Oh, and Jessica Biel goes topless. But give it a chance anyway.
Liotta plays a recently released convicted killer who has terminal cancer, Whitaker plays a suicidal ex-priest, Eddie Redmayne plays an asthmatic 20-something mortician, and Biel plays an exotic dancer who strips to get money to pay the doctor bills of her comatose son.
How their paths intersect in Los Angeles and how hope can come out of such seemingly lost lives is what this strange story is all about. "Powder Blue" is rated R (for sexual content, nudity, language and some drug use) and lists for $27.98.
Laurie, now best known as the know-it-all (eventually) mean-man doctor in "House," stars as Bertie Wooster, a British man of means, in a BBC series based on the writings of P.G. Wodehouse. Stephen Fry plays his valet, Jeeves. Through 23 episodes, Fry's "gentleman's gentleman" saved his hapless master's bacon from a parade of hopeless friends, relatives and would-be romantic entanglements. Laurie and Fry were a wonderfully matched odd couple in the comedy, which aired in England from 1990 to 1993. A&E Home Video gathers it all together in "Jeeves & Wooster: The Complete Series." The shows have been digitally restored and remastered, and the eight-disc set includes a biography/filmography of Wodehouse. The collector's set is not rated and lists for $59.95.
