McGraw not Giving up Music for Acting

LOS ANGELES -- U.S. country singer Tim McGraw says he likes acting but has no plans to quit his music career to be a movie star.

"I'm not going to give up music because it pays my bills," McGraw quipped while talking to reporters in Los Angeles recently about his role in the upcoming football-themed family film "The Blind Side," which was inspired by a true story.

"I was serious about this particular acting job; I tried to be anyway," McGraw explained. "I have to find things that fit in the time schedule that I have. I only have a few months out of the year that I am available to do something, so I was so lucky that something this great and with this quality of people to work with came along at a time when I was available to work. But I'm not going to give up music, no."

Asked if he would ever cancel a tour to work on a movie, he replied, "I could if I wanted to, but it would have to be something that would be hard to turn down, for sure."
