'Little Obama' Movie Filming in IndonesiaAn Indonesian filmmaker said he has begun filming "Little Obama the Movie," a film based on a fictionalized version of the U.S. president's childhood.

Writer and co-director Damien Dematra said the film, which follows a young Barack Obama while living with his parents in Jakarta's Menteng neighborhood, will wrap shooting June 3 and be ready for release June 17, which is expected to fall during a visit to the country by President Barack Obama, Jay Tapper's ABC News "Political Punch" blog reported Friday.

The publicity materials for the film, which stars Hasan Faruq, 12, as the young Obama, say it is "expected to become an inspiration for children to keep the dreams."

"There were many perspectives about Obama's childhood while he was staying with Lolo Soetoro and Ann Dunham in Menteng," the publicity materials state. "There were also his friends -- Slamet, Yuniardi, Rebecca, Sonny, and they have their sides of stories from their point of views. There are human sides, closeness, emotional sides, and opinions that lay out inspirationally."
