Jackie Chan in Talks on Hollywood Project

HONG KONG - Jackie Chan is in talks with one of the Hollywood production companies that made his last American movie about a second project, the top executive at Chan's company said Tuesday.

Solon So, head of Chan's JC Group, told The Associated Press the 54-year-old actor is discussing a new project with Los Angeles-based Relativity Media, one of the companies that made "The Forbidden Kingdom," his most recent release.

So declined to give details of the movie.

So said securing a movie deal depends on the progress of ongoing talks between the Screen Actors Guild, or SAG, and Hollywood studios about a new contract.

"Jackie is a SAG member so if SAG goes on strike, he can't do anything," So said. "If there isn't a strike, there should be an announcement any time."

Relativity Media didn't immediately return an after-hours call.

Chan usually juggles Hollywood projects with Chinese-language productions. He will next be seen in the Chinese-language movie "Shinjuku Incident," reportedly about Chinese immigrants living in Tokyo's Shinjuku shopping and entertainment district.

"The Forbidden Kingdom," which marked Chan's first on-screen collaboration with Jet Li, made US$52 million at the U.S. box office, according to box office tracking Web site Box Office Mojo. It was released in April.
