NEW YORK, Oct. 22 Hollywood film producer David Kirschner said a remake of the 1988 horror flick "Child's Play" is in the works.
The film about a murderous doll named Chucky was followed by four sequels.
Asked if the franchise had been laid to rest, Kirschner recently told reporters in New York: "Never! "We are discussing (a new movie) with Don Mancini who has written all of them with us from the very beginning."
"The next one we are going to do, we are actually going back and remaking the first one and even pushing it further and making a very terrifying version of the first one -- which I think is pretty scary as it is," he said. "It will be an animatronic doll, the way we do all of them. Animatronics have really grown since we did the first one 20 years ago. We just did the commentary on the 20th anniversary (DVD) edition of it and all the stars, the (actor Alex Vincent who played the) little kid, Andy Barclay, so that's coming out in January or February."
