Actor Paul Rudd, star of "Dinner for Schmucks" says New York City is so great he even likes the schmucky parts of the Big Apple.
Rudd, who has had a nice run going playing oddballs in goofball summer comedies, told the New York Daily News that while the city is less schmucky than most cities, it has its moments.
"People here know what 'schmuck' means," Rudd said, citing the Yiddish word for "jerk."
"Although there are certainly places where you can go and hang out and see people and think, 'Wow, that guy seems really ... schmucky,'" Rudd said. "But even then, there's a real flavor to the schmuckiness in New York that makes even that appealing."
Rudd is a New Jersey native who launched his acting career on Broadway. He told the newspaper he can still live incognito in New York, but is starting to get some recognition from the folks on the street.
