Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection

Most compilation discs of old-school classics include a few knockouts and fill out the rest of the space with forgettable retreads. But not "Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection," which crams more than 40 glimmering touchstones from the underrated system, which competed with Nintendo in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Included on the disc are just about all of the standout series that made the system a contender. Games on the disc range from action and puzzlers to role-playing games and are enough to occupy you for several years.
There are five "Sonic" games, three "Phantasy Stars," three "Golden Axes" and three "Streets of Rages." Also present are the stunners "Altered Beast," "Alien Syndrome" and "Shinobi."
Complete various challenges in each game and you unlock behind-the-scenes interviews and other background information on the games. This "Ultimate" collection lives up to the billing and encompasses everything a gaming anthology should be.
