"Section 8" introduced an interesting concoction of old and new shooter ideas when it was released in 2009, and the download-only sequel builds upon this concept. Sure, it was possible to construct turrets in the first game, but only "Section 8: Prejudice" lets players jump into giant mechs that were just delivered via dropship.

Once again, Alex Corde dons his suit of futuristic armor to fight evil in the name of the Section 8 military force.

It seems that a genetic experiment gone wrong resulted in a legion called the Arm of Orion, and now they're out for revenge! Unfortunately, what begins as an interesting story idea quickly degenerates into yet another generic campaign of destruction.

Regardless of the cliched storyline and lack of enemy variety, this game's single-player campaign is much better than that of its predecessor.

Players can also team up online to take on endless onslaughts of enemies in the new "swarm" mode, but the real fun is playing online multiplayer with up to 32 participants!

Conquest, Assault, and Skirmish modes all let players create custom loadouts to use in-game. This lets players construct their own soldier classes complete with personalized weapons, ammunition and equipment. Points can also be invested in various ability- enhancing bonuses.

What I really like is accruing credits by eliminating enemies and helping out my team in various ways. These credits can be used to have various stationary turrets, supply depots and powerful vehicles air-dropped practically anywhere. Eventually, players can call down mighty mechs, jump in them and lay waste to the battlefield.

It's also fun to hover around using the jet pack and attack foes from any direction. This results in very fast-paced game play that also requires some thought beyond simply 'Slay thine enemy!'"

Despite a few flaws, "Section 8: Prejudice" is still a fun, bargain-priced game.
