I'm confused. I thought Quantum of Solace was supposed to be a PlayStation 3 game but when I plonked the disc into my PS3 and saw it in action I could have sworn I was playing a PlayStation 2 game sometimes. No, really.
You want an example? OK, take the water cascading down an ornamental fountain in the opening training level. It looks like slabs of white ice and everything just seems to be blocky and PS2- ish. The in- game movies were grainy and poor, too. I haven't seen the movie Quantum of Solace so I'm assuming the game follows the plot of the movie fairly closely, with the game starting where Casino Royale ended as Bond confronts the mysterious Mr White at the mansion on Italy's Lake Como.
uantum of Solace has Bond taking on plenty of enemies in his quest for various underworld figures. He is climbing rooftops in Italy, sneaking through an opera house trying to avoid infrared cameras and wandering through catacombs.
Bond can dispatch enemies with takedown movies, which involves pressing the right button at the right time. It adds variety to the game play and a break from the weapons-based action.
Overall, it's an experience that is merely average. For die-hard Bond fans only.
