Book Review: Now What

For some change is a four letter word. For others the thought of change energizes their soul. But in the end it turns most people into procrastinators. If you've ever wished for an inspiring someone to help you sort out your life, encourage you in your journey and help you find and achieve what would truly bring you happiness and fulfillment, Laura Berman Fortgang would be that person. Her book is organized in such a way that for most people they should be able to know where their headed and how to begin in 90 days.
Laura's book is divided into two parts:
1. Name what "It" is
2. Getting there
Sound easy? It takes commitment, honesty and time but is well worth the effort. Laura's exercises will help you define where you've been, where you are and where you want to be. It all helps you in visualizing your goal, understanding yourself and your hangups and put to rest many of the "yeah, buts" and possible dreams that you might not be able to achieve. She is very realistic with her advice, noting that not everyone is cut out for a dramatic change and some may have deeper issues to work on from the past or what they have failed to deal with right now.
For many it is a revelation. I especially liked her exercise called: Write Your Fiction. The idea is to write different scenarios that are possible ways to get from where you are to where you want to be. The scenarios can be practical or as crazy as you want them to be. All of the exercises are creative, revealing and some are just plain fun.
There is an excellent Nuts and Bolts Section in the back that lists all sorts of helpful resources. Now What? is an easy to use guide in changing your life-so what are you waiting for? You may be surprised what the future can hold for you.
Laura Berman Fortgang, is a nationally renowned speaker and life coach, helping individuals, small businesses, and corporations forge new directions and weather change. Recently ordained as an interfaith minister, she lives in Montclair, New Jersey.
