Mystery Author Writes of Obama 2012

New York-based publisher Simon and Schuster announced an upcoming anonymous novel will explore possibilities for President Obama's re-election campaign.
The publisher said on its Web site the book, "O: A Presidential Novel," which is scheduled for a Jan. 25 release, was "written by an anonymous author who has spent years observing politics and the fraught relationship between public image and self-regard," ABC News reported Tuesday.
Simon and Schuster said the author is someone with "vast personal experience" and the book will detail possible strategies for President Barack Obama's 2012 re-election campaign.
Michael Maslansky, a communications expert who advises corporations on branding, said "the impact of the book will be more the result of who wrote it and what it says than the fact that it is being released anonymously.
"By not disclosing the author, there can be more speculation about what will be revealed. More buzz. More sales. And no debate about whether the author has the right to write this book," he said.
