"Building Bridges to Success Through Education for the Military Community" will be the theme of the 40th anniversary symposium of the Council of College and Military Educators.  The Symposium will be held 25-28 February 2013 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel. The Council of College and Military Educators continues its proud tradition of being the premiere professional organization serving the military civilian education community.

This will be the "not to miss event" for military education in 2013, with inspiring and informative general sessions, dozens of meaningful concurrent sessions, hundreds of exhibits, and lots of great networking and fun with an emphasis on 40 years of CCME.

The program is already taking shape.  According to CCME President Joycelyn Groot,"Not only will Dan Clark, the inspirational and motivational hit of the 2012 CCME Symposium in Orlando be the opening keynote speaker, but we are also excited to have Larry Broughton, entrepreneur and motivational speaker, whose notably diverse background is highlighted by service as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army Green Berets.  Larry will speak during general session, but also lend his expertise to educators and future "vetreprenuers" with a session about transitional opportunities.  Both speakers will inspire, motivate, and deliver a world-class presentation guaranteed to supercharge everyone."

Proposals will soon be requested for concurrent sessions that will deal with every facet of military and veteran education. There will be representatives from the Department of Defense, Veterans Affairs, a university presidents panel, student and faculty panels, and panels on transitioning to civilian life. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of CCME, there will be 1970’s "California Cool" social events. It is anticipated that 200 exhibitors will attend.  So get your bell-bottoms and tie-dyed shirts out of storage, load up your iPod with Disco music and plan on being there!
