Tiger attack helos could fly in Afghanistan, general says

German military advance teams say it would be possible to field Tiger attack helicopters in Afghanistan's RC-North, the top local commander told reporters at the Pentagon on Thursday. But German Maj. Gen. Markus Kneip, speaking via video teleconference, said that even though German officials have concluded the local bases could support the helicopters, it will be up to political leaders in Berlin to decide whether to actually send them.

American AH-64 Apache attack helicopters have proven an invaluable tool in the Afghan war, and the top ISAF and German commanders are evidently wondering whether they could replicate it in the North.
