Army Officer Firings Blamed on Bad Evals, Not Race

Eight in 10 of the Army majors being dismissed from the service had poor evaluations or otherwise bad marks, a fact that some say played a far bigger role in the separations than race or ethnicity. Of 550 majors identified for involuntary separation, 80 percent had a negative performance evaluation or other derogatory information in their record.
