SEATTLE — The Seattle Seahawks organization formally adopted the Coast Guard 13th District during a ceremony at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, Tuesday.

Rear Adm. Richard Gromlich, commander of the Coast Guard 13th District, accepted the honor from the Air Force 446th Airlift Wing, last year’s honored unit.

More than a dozen Seahawks players and members of the team’s cheerleading squad, the Seagals, met with hundreds of military members, signed autographs and posed for photographs.

Gromlich was also presented with a 12th Man flag during the ceremony. It will be flown from various Coast Guard units throughout the Pacific Northwest in support of the Seattle Seahawks.
