Israeli Troops Confess in Soldier Beating

Eight Israeli soldiers have been suspended after they confessed to beating a fellow soldier so severely he needed hospitalization.

The soldiers, with the Kfir Brigade's Nahshon Battalion, were suspected of beating a younger solider from their company during a training session on Thursday, Ynetnews.com reported.

Military police are investigating the incident, which the victim with abdominal contusions.

An investigation in March found that two Givati soldiers beat soldiers newly arrived to their battalion with rods used to hold up practice targets and insulted them over a long period of time.

Just two weeks ago, Kfir Brigade commander Col. Udi Ben Mucha pledged hard punishment for those soldiers found abusing fellow troops.
