Presidential Retirement Certificates

A Retirement Certificate is available for personnel retiring with 20 or more years of military service and can be ordered through their Command Career Counselor. Presidential Certificates are no longer mailed from NPC with Fleet Reserve/Retirement Packages. Use form DD 2542 which is now available for order through: http://forms.daps.dla.mil/order. When you arrive at this website, at the top of the page, type DD 2542 (with the space) in the Search Criteria box, and change Stock Number to Form Number in the drop-down list.

Presidential Retirement Letters

For a servicemember retiring with 30 years of active-duty service, Navy Personnel Command Millington, Tennessee automatically submits a request for a letter from the President. For more information refer to NAVADMIN 231/06.

Presidential Certificate of Appreciation

To receive a certificate of appreciation from a former U.S. President, use the contact information below. Requests should include, at a minimum, full name and rank of retiree, date of retirement, address, name and phone number of contact person. Other information may be required.
