My friend is trying to leave her abusive husband.

She tried going to his CO to get him help and that didn't get anywhere. In fact all it did was make him mad that "she was trying to ruin his career" that he choked her and told her she should of died in surgury. She is now staying with me with her kids and he is refusing to send any money saying his CO told him she's not entitled to a dime. Where can I tell her to go to get help? And is what he's saying true? Please any help would be appreciated.

YOU NEED TO CONTACT HIS COMMAND, IF HIS CO DIDNT DO ANYTHING, THAT IS WRONG AS WELL AND YOU CAN REPORT THIS AS WELL, AS LONG AS YOU HAVE PROF. 		S-I-X 3:34 AM 10/23/12 I am a Domestic violence Advocate and there is a National Domestic Violence number you can call or get online to check it out. http://www.thehotline.org/ is the link and the phone number is 1-800 799-safe (7233). when you are going online and calling agencies remember that your abuser can go and search the history of the computer. The same with phone calls, last but not least any cell phone can dial 911 even if it has service or not. Seems to me like she should be concerned about a little more than money, I know women on the outside need to find a way (so to speak) so why does the military try to pamper spouses more than any other industry out there in this nation?!?!?!? Who knows and she could be like one of those Sharee Miller type nuts like Anne Heche portrayed in "Fatal Desire in 2006" that make up stories about their husbands being abusive and members of the mob/mafia just to get attention or dead for the insurance money like Sharee (Tanya Sullivan in Fatal Desire did) whenever they fed their somewhat gullible lover on the side with stories of abuse that eventually drove him to kill the husband but that's a far extreme though but she could be one of those nuts and should not be worried about the money. I was an abused military husband years back and I still had to give my wife at the time money each month (even though she physically assaulted me) until we were divorced and I received nothing from her! I have passed it all on to her for her to not use any of it and to continue to be the "pity me my husband hit me and threatened me so I left him. Now I have no husband or reliable income to pay my bills." I can see being like that at first but by now she should be understanding that life will be hard for awhile, get moving on finding work, getting the seperation paperwork going, and being both Mom and Dad to her girls. My patience is wearing thin with her continued attittude of whining online 24/7 to her friends and sitting on my couch instead of spending time with her kids.
