Geilenkirchen is the home of the NATO Airborne Early Warning Force Command's E-3A Component.

Situated in the village of Teveren, four kilometers west of Geilenkirchen, Germany, the next largest city, and adjacent to The Netherlands border, NATO Air Base Geilenkirchen is located in the German laender (county) of Nord-Rhein Westfalia.
