CHINHAE, Republic of Korea (April 7, 2017) Sailors from Commander, Fleet Activities Chinhae (CFAC) join the local Chinhae community in a parade in honor of the 472nd birthday of ROK Navy Adm. Yi, Sun-sin. Jinhae Gunhangie Cherry Blossom Festival was first held in 1952 to commemorate Yi and has grown into one of the largest festivals in the Republic of Korea bringing an estimated 3 million visitors to the area. Commander, Fleet Activities (COMFLEACTS) Chinhae which covers approximately 90 acres, is adjacent to the Republic of Korea Naval Base.

The primary mission of COMFLEACT Chinhae is to maintain and operate facilities, to provide services and materials in support of tenant shore activities and units of the Operating Forces of the U.S. Navy, and to perform such other functions or tasks as maybe directed by higher authority.
