A portrait of Taryn Davis, the 24 year old founder of the American Widow Project, a support organization for the new generation of war widows. Taryn shows off a large back tattoo she got after her husband was killed. It's from a Ralph Waldo Emerson poem titled "Threnody" and reads: "The eager fate which carried thee Took the largest part of me: For this losing is true dying." The American Widow project is a support organization for the new generation of war widows who lost their husbands in Iraq and Afghanistan.
